Driveway Part 1 – Preparation

For a number of years now we have wanted to replace our driveway, however we decided to wait until the garage conversion was complete, or at least sufficiently complete that no more digging on the drive was expected.

We contracted Mick Judge of Judge Paving to perform the work for us, having previously used him to build the concrete base of our pre-fabricated garage build a number of years back.

Wednesday 31st August

Work started and initially involved ripping up the old crazy-paving slabs.

Thursday 1st September

More digging up to increase the pile of rubble

The paving slabs have been taken away, possibly to be reused on some other project, or broken up for hard core.

Friday 2nd September

The rubble was all removed and a weed resistant layer of matting was put down before covering with a layer of gravel and sand.
