June Electricity:
I managed to maintain a 1.87% Peak/Off-Peak ratio, compared to 4.86% in 2025.
A pretty sunny month, but not quite as sunny as last year.
Electricity costs for the month of June: £100.59 for 2026, £99.05 for 2025.
Electricity demand for the month of June: 1504kWh for 2026, 1780kWh for 2025 (2026 does not include EcoFlow figure – see below).
The off-peak/peak/SC values for June were £0.069/0.30269/0.53892 for 2026 vs £0.07/£0.28959/0.47606 for 2025, same as last month.
This can also be seen in the month on month usage vs cost graphs where my usage is about the same, however my costs have gone down each year:
Ecoflow batteries:
The graphs show a total of 438kWh (321 + 117) of usage, 180kWh (135 +45) of which came from the batteries and 258kWh (186 + 71) came from the ‘grid’ after the batteries were exhausted.
This means that I have moved an additional 180kWh of usage from peak to off-peak or £42.06 (180 * (0.30269 – 0.069)) of additional savings not captured elsewhere, this should be added to the demand figure above, taking it to from 1504kWh to 1684kWh
June Solar:
Actual production for June significantly exceeded the forecast.
The various arrays produced the following levels of energy: Garage 335.70kWh, Office 252.90kWh, East 235.75kWh, West 288.97kWh for a total of 1113kWh, this compares to 1182kWh for June 2025, so slightly down on last year once again.
Whilst I produced less than last year, I managed to export 738kWh compared to 416kWh in 2025, for a total saving of £88.59, around 50% more than last year’s figure of £62.54.
This is largely due to the extra batteries, allowing me to make it through most days without drawing any peak electricity and thereby allowing me to export more solar and also empty my Enphase batteries at the end of the day.
The import costs of £100.59 less the export savings of £88.59 means my net cost for June was £12.00 for 1684kWh of demand making my average rate £0.007/kWh.
June Gas:
Heating was turned off for the entirety of this month.
Quite a warm June my cost was slightly up on last year, £29.32 vs £22.73, despite my usage being down, 310kWh vs 463kWh, the average cost per kWh was up at 0.0624 as compared to 0.0492 in 2025, war in the Middle East, is still having an adverse effect on the gas prices.
Gas costs:
There were six Saver Sessions this month, my Home Assistant automation signed me up automatically
I received notification about these sessions via emails sent round midday of the day in question.
4th June between 18:00 and 19:00, offering 93 Octopoints (11.625p) per kWh saved.
16th June between 19:00 and 20:00, offering 102 Octopoints (12.75p) per kWh saved.
18th June between 19:00 and 20:00, offering 100 Octopoints (12.50p) per kWh saved.
23rd June between 18:00 and 19:00, offering 196 Octopoints (24.50p) per kWh saved.
24th June between 19:30 and 20:30, offering 415 Octopoints (51.875p) per kWh saved.
25th June between 18:30 and 19:30, offering 108 Octopoints (13.50p) per kWh saved.
Since all but one were offering less than my export guarantee and way less than the peak rate (30.269p/kWh), I made no effort to charge the batteries beforehand, or discharge them during the sessions.
The savings are calculated against the previous 10 days usage during the same period, and since my usage is usually at, or near zero during these times, I would need to be discharging my batteries to make any difference.
My house draws from the grid when I am force discharging the batteries, which can have a significant impact on any potential savings – hence why I discharge my batteries each night at the start of the off-peak window.
As a result my savings during these sessions were somewhat low:
I saved 0.17kWh on the 4th, which netted me 16 Octopints (£0.02).
I saved 0kWh on the 16th, which netted me 0 Octopints (£0.00).
I saved 0.16kWh on the 18th, which netted me 16 Octopints (£0.02).
I saved 0.08kWh on the 23rd, which netted me 16 Octopints (£0.02).
I saved 0.04kWh on the 24th, which netted me 16 Octopints (£0.02).
I saved 0.15kWh on the 25th, which netted me 16 Octopints (£0.02).
A total saving of £0.10 – absolutely not worth the effort to even bother doing anything regarding these sessions.
In hindsight, I could could made an effort to discharge my batteries on the 24th, as this was offering nearly double the peak rate during that period, I can potentially export nearly 2.5kWh during a 1 hour window, which would have meant a potential 1038 Octopoints (£1.30) saved, however this would need to be factored against the house draw during that period of around 1.7kWh which would have been charged at the peak rate of £0.30269 costing me £0.51 and reducing the actual saving to around £0.80.
