Whilst the first flight of stairs in the house had carpet in place when I moved in, and was replaced around 2003, it was removed around the time the plastering was being performed, as it was by this stage well past its best and in need of replacement.
The second flight of stairs up to the loft bedroom has never had carpet installed, and this flight of stairs has been in the house for 9 years, so well overdue for some carpet.
Having recently had the bannisters painted along with the doors, and all of the wood flooring now completed, it was now time to choose some carpet.
We found a wool carpet with a small berber style weave at Hoopers Carpets in South Harrow that we liked and on receiving the quote, decided to go ahead and have them fit as well.
This first set of photos show the flights of stairs in their before state with no carpet, underlay or gripper rods in place.

In all we are very pleased with the carped and the installation.
