Garage Conversion Part 21 – Sink and Tap

After a delay of nearly 2 months, the tap finally arrived, so it was finally time to finish off all of the plumbing for the sink.

First I decided where the tap was going to be fitted and drilled a suitable sized hole to mount it using a spade bit.

The solid copper tails that came with the tap were way too short to fit onto the isolation points, so I purchased some suitable flexible pipes and attached them to a couple of push fit tap fittings with a small piece of poly pipe in between.

Next I fitted the sink using the supplied fittings and connected all of the waste fittings.

Then I moved the parts of the waste system until I was happy with the location and made up a suitable waste pipe using solvent weld fittings, this is the result:

In the above picture I have also connected up the waste from the washing machine.

I will probably use a cut down piece of board to prevent items falling off the shelf.

This is the finished sink and bowl as viewed from the top.

The Utility room can now be confirmed as complete.
