Bearing Mounts

Next up were one of the bearing mounts, 3 of these are required as well.

Here is the model of the mount.

First I cut about a 60mm piece from a bar of 2 1/2″ (63.5mm) x 3/8″ (9.25mm) flat bar, this originally came from ebay seller diamondengineeringsupplies at a cost of £14.76 for an 880mm length .

The first job was to square it up to 60mm on each side.

Next I drilled a hole in the middle, then expanded this out to a stepped bored hole of 30mm then 24mm.

Then 4 x 6mm holes drilled at 20mm and 15mm offsets from the centre lines

Here is one of the finished mounts with a 7200 bearing installed.

The 7200 bearings came from ebay seller rc-bearings for a cost of $27.88 (£18.58) for 10 with $11.68  (£7.80) P&P and $11.03 (£7.35) import duty, making them $5.06 (£3.26) each.

These are 10x30x9mm angular contact bearings which I will be using in pairs with a pair of belleville washers in between and pre-loading them on the lead screw.
