Week 39 (September 25 – October 01) – C2 Fall Team Challenge

Monday morning rest day apart from a long walk with the dog.

Tuesday morning rowing, half marathon for the C2 Fall Team Challenge

interrupted twice by the doorbell.

Tuesday evening was supposed to be archery, but I forgot all about it and didn’t go.

Wednesday morning rowing, 10,000m at 18spm

Kept the heart rate below 150bpm

Thursday morning rowing in at the work gym, 2,000m (9:50.8) warm up, then 10,000m as 3 x (2,000m hard, 1,000m lighter), 1 x 500m hard, 500m light.

  • 2000m – 7:41.5 (1:55.3), 1000m – 4:39.5 (2:19.7)
  • 2000m – 7:35.7 (1:53.9), 1000m – 4:50.8 (2:25.4)
  • 2000m – 7:32.4 (1:53.1), 1000m – 4:59.2 (2:29.6)
  • 500m – 1:45.4, 500m – 2:15.1

2,231m (11:38.2) cool down, stretching, shower, breakfast and up to my desk.

Thursday evening rowing, fine 2x, bow seat with Jonathan again, more preparation for Bedford, more concentration on balance (8,444m).

Friday another rest day.

Saturday morning rowing, 7,016m (32:14.5) warm up for masters rowing. Masters rowing, 8+ #6 seat, mainly steady state until the bolt on the top of the #7 oarlock came loose and we had to go in early (7,806m).

Wandered into Staines, the Thai stall was not there so I had a chicken tikka wrap instead and then headed back to the boat house.

Saturday afternoon leisure rowing, 8+ stroke seat, mainly concentrating on keeping the boat level (3,548m).

Sunday morning rowing, 5,019m (23:31.7), 8+ #4 seat, steady state and a power ladder towards the end all at 18spm (12,791m).

Wandered into town and had McDonnalds for lunch before heading back to the boat club.

Sunday afternoon leisure rowing, leisure 4x, stroke seat, 2 loops up to ‘The Lammas’, down to the church and in with two newer rowers in the cox seat, I was teaching them how to cox (4629m).

57,384m this week for the C2 Fall Team Challenge, which added to my previous total of 86,889m puts me at 144,273m.

During the month of September I managed a total of 129 hours of exercise, walked 233km, climbed 275 flights of stairs, skied 5,505m on the SkiErg, rowed 249km on the RowErg  and 160km on the water.

By the end of the month my weight was 14 Stone 7lb (203lb/92kg), 2lb loss.
