Week 51 (December 19 – December 25) – Holiday Challenge, OTW, Christmas Fun Shoot, Team JL 2023

Monday morning rowing, 2,000m (9:54.8) warm up, 10,000m (48:42.2) for the C2 Holliday Challenge,

A relaxed steady state piece at around 2:25 pace, I was still feeling a little beaten up from yesterday’s Remenham Challenge.Watched The Librarians S01E07 and S01E08. 2,249m (12:16.4) cool down and some stretching.

14,249m for the day, running total for the Holiday Challenge is 271,895m.

Tuesday morning rowing, 1/2 marathon (1:39:43.9) for the C2 Holliday Challenge,

Another steady state piece at around 2:22 pace, heart rate kept below 130bpm, watched Black Adam, 8,240m (42:03.3) cool down and some stretching.

29,337m for the day, running total for the Holiday Challenge is 301,232m.

Having now passed 300,00m, I want to try and hit 400,000 by the end of the challenge, this means 25,000m or more every day for the next 4 days.

Tuesday evening archery Christmas fun shoot, 8 fun targets, club bows, and longbows were allowed to shoot normally, using your own bow it had to be barebow and stand facing away from the targets and twist to shoot.

This was followed by nibbles and drinks at the Harefield Cricket Club, a very enjoyable evening.

Wednesday morning rowing, 1/2 marathon (1:39:43.9) for the C2 Holliday Challenge,

Slightly faster pace than yesterday at around 2:20 pace, heart rate still below 130bpm, watched Nativity, 4,018m (18:29.4) cool down and some stretching.

25,115m for the day, running total for the Holiday Challenge is 326,347m.

Thursday morning rowing, 1/2 marathon (1:49:32.5) for the C2 Holliday Challenge,

I was interrupted by a Tesco shopping delivery, not that I was heading for a great time anyway, I had a bad night and was not really feeling it this morning., heart rate mainly below 110bpm, watched Nativity2, 4,036m (19:52.6) cool down and some stretching.

25,133m for the day, running total for the Holiday Challenge is 351,480m.

Friday morning rowing, 1/2 marathon (1:49:32.5) for the C2 Holliday Challenge,

Slightly better pace today, mainly around 2:21/500m, watched Nativity Rocks, 4,033m (18:50.6) cool down and some stretching.

25,133m for the day, running total for the Holiday Challenge is 351,480m.

Saturday morning rowing, masters rowing is cancelled because the landing stage is underwater, 1/2 marathon (1:49:32.5) for the C2 Holliday Challenge,

Pace was a steady today, heart rate mainly below 115bpm, Watched Spirited, 4,032m (21:44.9) cool down and some stretching.

My knees were aching this morning, I have probably overdone the training this week, however I intend to take the next three days off from rowing to let my body recover before hitting the C2 January Revolutions Challenge in the New Year.

Sunday – Merry Christmas every one, I went for an hour long walk with the dog before breakfast and then on to opening presents, eating turkey and chilling out.
