I had a couple of good finds on Facebook Marketplace, an Innovation Fitness Powerbar 2 for pull ups and chin ups for £10.00, these are usually around £30.00 on Amazon.
The Guy I bought the Powerbar from only lived just around the corner from me and even dropped it off for free.
Also an Amazon Basics Dip Fitness Bar for £10.00, this retails for around £50.00, and is almost identical to some that retail for over £125.00. It was missing the feet, but for that price I was not complaining.
I started my first week of calisthenics, using the level 1 options from the Convict Conditioning plan. Day 1 was Push Ups and Leg Raises.
- Wall Push Ups – 3 x 50
- Knee Tucks – 3 x 25
I was happy with the progression level of Wall Push Ups and will continue this for a while to build shoulder strength.
The Knee Tucks were slightly harder than expected and will require a little work to make the progression standard.
One of the challenges posted up this month on the Dark Horse forum was to ‘row off’ the calories in your Easter Egg and provide proof.
Mine was a 400g After Eight egg
with 10 servings of 112 calories
I decided to row this as 10 intervals of 112 calories with 1 minute rest between each interval
Next calisthenics workout was Pull Ups, Squats and Bridges
- Vertical Pulls – 3 x 40
- Shoulder Stand Squats – 3 x 50
- Short Bridges – 3 x 50
All of these seemed fine, so will continue with them and or move on to something harder.
