This CNC machine has been in the design process even longer than my PCB CNC Machine.
First of all I was thinking of something along the lines of the Build your own CNC Machine:
or maybe a JGRO:
I also liked the look of Joe’s 2006:
but really liked Joe’s 4×4 Hybrid.
There is loads of inspiration available over at the CNC Zone forums.
The next couple of posts will show some of the design stages that I have gone through in the past year. At least designing in Sketchup or some other 3D modelling package is free (except for your time), and avoids potentially costly mistakes.
