I have been designing this one for a while now, so this first post will be a sort of catchup, showing the various design changes that have happened along the way.<\/p>\n

Original version.
\nThis had a fixed gantry and a platform that could move in the X and Y planes.<\/p>\n

Version 2.
\nStill had a fixed gantry, but has the X and Z planes on this gantry.<\/p>\n

Version 3.
\nThis makes use of some of the linear slide items I bought from Ebay<\/a>,\u00a0but is still somewhat incomplete as a design.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Version 4.
\nMore use of the linear slide items (I bought a few), and a more sturdy sub frame.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Version 5.
\nA more minimalist version that draws on some other ideas out on the web, most notably John Kleinbauer<\/a> (unfortunately now removed from the web).<\/p>\n

Version 6.
\nNot a huge amount of variation from the previous one, some of the bracing has been removed.<\/p>\n

Version 7.
\nRe-designed again, this time using Unistrut as the chassis.<\/p>\n

Version 8.
\nBack to a gantry design, but using Unistrut, again, an incomplete design.<\/p>\n

Version 9 (Current version).
\nLoosely based on one of Microcarve<\/a>‘s designs, using MDF and threaded studding as the chassis.<\/p>\n
