Having commissioned my Enphase solar and battery installation, I decided to get started on my East-West array that will be mounted on my pre-fabricated concrete double garage<\/a> at the bottom of my garden.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This is install will be 5 panels on each side of the garage, each in their own ‘string’.<\/p>\n

For these arrays I have decided to use Fastensol<\/a> products, firstly because nobody in the UK stocks Van Der Valk<\/a> pitched roof products and second because they are a fraction of the cost of just about any other fixing system.<\/p>\n

This install is based around the Fastensol<\/a> 3,550mm rail.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>5 lengths of this rail will be cut in half and attached in line with the ridges through the corrugated fibre cement roof panels to the wooden purlins underneath using Fastensol<\/a> Hanger Bolts for wood.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Additional lengths of the rail will be joined together using Fastensol<\/a> Rail Splice pieces.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

These will run transverse to the first set of rails and be attached via Fastensol<\/a> Cross Connect pieces.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

These come with a normal hex nut, so I also ordered an equal set of Fastensol<\/a> nuts.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The micro inverters will be attached using Fastensol<\/a> rail bolts.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The panels will then be attached using Fastensol<\/a> niversal Clamps.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I also purchased some rubber end caps so as to avoid scraping myself on the ends of the rails and to tidy up the installation.<\/p>\n

Total cost for the framing was under \u00a3350.00, 10 x Jinko Tiger solar panels, IQ8HC micro inverters and portrait IQ cables, plus some cable, connectors, terminators, and isolators, all in for well under \u00a32,500.00 plus VAT and shipping (I will claim back the VAT).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
