Wednesday 14th March<\/h3>\n

Having finally found yet another plasterer it was time to start work on the first floor bedrooms.<\/p>\n

First up was the box bedroom as this was to be used to store all of the cupboards and contents of the other two bedrooms whilst they were being worked on.<\/p>\n

I don’t have any pictures from before I stripped the wall paper, as once again I forgot to start the documenting process until work was well under way.<\/p>\n

The walls in this room were in a pretty bad way and several sections with loose plaster had to be stripped back to bear brick.<\/p>\n

Once the walls were ready, the plasterer had requested that we use Green Grit to stabilise the walls, stating that it was far superior to the classic PVA and water that many plasterers use.<\/p>\n

This turns the room to an interesting shade of green, it provides a gritty surface for the plaster to adhere to and also prevents the existing wall from sucking the moisture out of the newly applied plaster.<\/div>\n

Thursday 15th March<\/h3>\n

The plasterer started with the ceiling.<\/p>\n

 As well as filling in all of the areas that previously had loose plaster with a bonding coat.<\/p>\n

Friday 16th March<\/h3>\n

The following day he skimmed the walls, completing the work in this room.<\/p>\n
