<\/a><\/p>\nI managed to maintain a 9.01% Peak\/Off-Peak ratio, which down on last month’s 4.88%.<\/p>\n
There were a quite a few days that were overcast, and on the rest I managed to have only minimal peak usage.<\/p>\n
Electricity costs for the month of July: \u00a3120.07 for 2025, \u00a3110.63 for 2024 and \u00a3449.94 for 2023 – not quite as good as last year, but still way better than the year before.<\/p>\n
Electricity demand for the month of July: 1884kWh for 2025, 1821kWh for 2024 and 1376kWh for 2023.<\/p>\n
The additional cost for this year was around \u00a310.00 more for an additional 60kWH of usage spread across 9 days<\/p>\n
The off-peak\/peak\/SC values for July were \u00a30.07\/0.24393\/0.488 for 2024 vs \u00a30.07\/\u00a30.2896\/0.4542 for 2025, but both have changed from last month.<\/p>\n

July Solar:<\/p>\n Actual production for July far exceeded the forecast for every day, often by way more than double.<\/p>\n The various arrays produced the following levels of energy: Garage 307.52kWh, Office 231.45kWh, East 226.57kWh, West 266.57kWh for a total of 1032.24kWh less than last month, but we are now past peak summer<\/p>\n A reasonable month for solar production, I also managed to export 291kWh for a total saving of \u00a343.69.<\/p>\n The import costs of \u00a3120.07 less the export savings of \u00a343.69 means my net cost for July was \u00a376.43 for 1884kWh of demand making my average rate \u00a30.040\/kWh.<\/p>\n July Gas:<\/p>\n Gas costs for the month of July: \u00a329.04 for 2025, \u00a322.59 for 2024 and \u00a3-181.58 for 2023 (strange refund situation).<\/p>\n Gas usage for the month of July: 424kWh for 2025, 314kWh for 2024 and -2915kWh for 2023 (again weird numbers).<\/p>\n \u00a36.00 more than last year, 31% more gas consumed and on the Octopus Gas Tracker tariff vs the Octopus Standard Gas Tariff, so similar to last month.<\/p>\n Gas prices have started to fall again this month, I would have paid a lot more had I still been on the Octopus Standard Tariff, which was \u00a30.0699 per kWh for July \u00a339.82 ((424 * 0.0699) + 10.18sc) or an additional \u00a310.77 for the month.<\/p>\n The heating was off for the entire month, so gas was only used for heating the hot water.<\/p>\n Again all visible in the usage vs cost graphs.<\/p>\n There was also a sever session on 01\/07 that Home Assistant automatically signed me up for<\/p>\n It was offering 112 Octopionts per kWh, I did not save any electricity, so did not earn any points<\/p>\n I did however win 800 Octopoints on the Wheel of Fortune which is worth \u00a31.00<\/p>\n There was a free electricity’ session on 05\/07 where they finally decided to allow all electricity usage and I saved a massive \u00a30.25 (3.45kW at 0.07\/kWh), which should be taken off the cost for the month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" July 2025 updates July Electric: I managed to maintain a 9.01% Peak\/Off-Peak ratio, which down on last month’s 4.88%.
