<\/a><\/p>\nI managed to maintain a 4.88% Peak\/Off-Peak ratio, which is another improvement on last month’s 6%.<\/p>\n
There were 2 days that were overcast, and on the rest I managed to have only minimal peak usage.<\/p>\n
Electricity costs for the month of June: \u00a398.90 for 2025, \u00a3161.98 for 2024 and \u00a3452.38 for 2023 – yet more great on-going savings.<\/p>\n
Electricity demand for the month of June: 1780kWh for 2025, 1776kWh for 2024 and 1202kWh for 2023.<\/p>\n
The additional savings for this year are almost entirely down to the Solar and Battery as I was on the same tariff last June as I am now, I used about the same amount of electricity, yet it cost me about 38% less.<\/p>\n
The off-peak\/peak\/SC values for June were \u00a30.075\/0.2794\/0.4785 for 2024 vs \u00a30.07\/\u00a30.2896\/0.47605 for 2025, so not a huge difference and the same as last month.<\/p>\n

June Solar:<\/p>\n Actual production for June far exceeded the forecast for every day, often by way more than double.<\/p>\n The various arrays produced the following levels of energy: Garage 346.94 kWh, Office 263.48kWh, East 256.87kWh, West 310.87kWh for a total of 1182.28kWh which is again my best month to date, beating last month by 29.90kWh.<\/p>\n A very good month for solar production, I also managed to export 501.72kWh for a total saving of \u00a375.26.<\/p>\n The import costs of \u00a398.90 less the export savings of \u00a375.26 means my net cost for June was \u00a323.65 for 1780kWh of demand making my average rate \u00a30.0135\/kWh.<\/p>\n June Gas:<\/p>\n Gas costs for the month of June: \u00a331.54 for 2025, \u00a324.03 for 2024 and \u00a386.46 for 2023.<\/p>\n Gas usage for the month of June: 463kWh for 2025, 328kWh for 2024 and 186kWh for 2023.<\/p>\n \u00a36.00 more than last year, 31% more gas consumed and on the Octopus Gas Tracker tariff vs the Octopus Standard Gas Tariff, so similar to last month.<\/p>\n Gas prices have started to fall again this month, I would have paid a lot more had I still been on the Octopus Standard Tariff, which was \u00a30.0603 per kWh for June \u00a344.07 ((480 * 0.0603) + 15.13) or an additional \u00a312.18 for the month.<\/p>\n The heating was off for the entire month, so gas was only used for heating the hot water.<\/p>\n Again all visible in the usage vs cost graphs.<\/p>\n There were two Saver Sessions this month, 04\/06 and 30\/06, my Home Assistant automation signed me up automatically<\/p>\n I received notification about these sessions via emails sent round midday of the day in question.<\/p>\n The first one was between 20:00 and 20:30 of the 4th June, offering 95 Octopoints (11.875p) per kWh saved.<\/p>\n The second one was between 18:00 and 19:00 of the 30th June, offering 112 Octopoints (14p) per kWh saved.<\/p>\n Since these were all offering less than my export guarantee and way less than the peak rate, I made no effort to charge the batteries beforehand, or discharge them during the sessions<\/p>\n As a result my savings were somewhat low.<\/p>\n I saved 0.25kWh on the 4th, which netted me 24 Octopints (\u00a30.03).<\/p>\n I saved 0kWh on the 4th, which netted me 0 Octopints (\u00a30.00).<\/p>\n Absolutely not worth the effort to even bother doing anything regarding these sessions.<\/p>\n There was also a free electricity session on 22nd June between 14:00 and 15:00, however Octopus Energy have changed the rules this year and now, if you are on the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, you only qualify for a free hour of car charging, not general household use, as such, even though I signed up for the session, I didn’t actually do anything about it<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" June 2025 updates June Electric: I managed to maintain a 4.88% Peak\/Off-Peak ratio, which is another improvement on last month’s 6%.
