8U desktop rack from Ebay for \u00a38.50 and \u00a33.00 P&amp;P.<\/p>\n<p>I do not have a picture of the actual item, but it looks a lot like the one below, except it uses round tubing and has threaded holes rather than using cage nuts.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/8U-2BRack.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em;margin-right: 1em\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" data-original-height=\"590\" data-original-width=\"590\" height=\"320\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/8U-2BRack-300x300.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>As part of re designing my home network, I moved the coax cable for my internet so that it enters my house in the loft, since this is where I want to place the majority of the network equipment and this is also where all of my satellite coax is distributed from.<\/p>\n<p>I already had a CyberPower CP1350EAVRLCD-UK 1350VA Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) that I was using to keep my HP Microserver alive that I bought on Ebay back in 2018 for \u00a377.99.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/CP1350.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em;margin-right: 1em\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" data-original-height=\"494\" data-original-width=\"266\" height=\"320\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/CP1350-162x300.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>So I purchased an additional one, this time a CyberPower VALUE1500EILCD 1500VA unit for \u00a365.00 and free P&amp;P.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/CP1500.jpeg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em;margin-right: 1em\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" data-original-height=\"225\" data-original-width=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/CP1500.jpeg\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The 1500VA UPS was then used to protect the HP Microserver and the 1350VA unit was moved to the loft to protect the network equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The main reason for choosing which one to place in the loft was because the 1350VA one also had a number of UK plug sockets on the rear and I wanted to use this to my advantage.<\/p>\n<p>I bought an <a href=\"https:\/\/cpc.farnell.com\/pulse\/pds8-c13\/1u-19-8way-c13-switch-panel\/dp\/DP36294?CMP=TREML007-005\">8 way IEC C13 Switch Panel PDU<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/cpc.farnell.com\/\">CPC<\/a> for \u00a329.99, along with 8 x <a href=\"https:\/\/cpc.farnell.com\/pro-power\/pe01088-1m\/iec-c14-plug-to-iec-c13-sckt-1m\/dp\/PL15010?CMP=TREML007-005\">IEC C13 1m extension leads <\/a>for \u00a31.43 each, this unit happens to have a UK plug (another reason for choosing which UPS to use in the loft).<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/Screenshot-2B2021-03-11-2Bat-2B14.15.03.png\" style=\"margin-left: 1em;margin-right: 1em\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" data-original-height=\"454\" data-original-width=\"3166\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/Screenshot-2B2021-03-11-2Bat-2B14.15.03-300x43.png\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>I also purchased a 24 port keystone patch panel from Ebay for \u00a313.50 and several packs of 10 x RJ45 keystone jacks from Amazon for \u00a38.99 each.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/patch-panel-cobicabling-1u-24-porty-keystone-niewyposazony_f.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em;margin-right: 1em\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" data-original-height=\"480\" data-original-width=\"1920\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/patch-panel-cobicabling-1u-24-porty-keystone-niewyposazony_f-300x75.jpg\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The 1350VA UPS powers a UK 4 way power strip, which in turn supplies the PDU, A PoE injector for a Ubiquiti N-SW, my internet router and a MoCA unit, these last two have dedicated power supplies built into their plugs, so not IEC compatible.<\/p>\n<p>The PDU in turn supplies power to everything else that has a C13 IEC &#8216;kettle&#8217; power connector.<\/p>\n<p>Currently the rack contains from the bottom to the top: The 8 way PDU, Unifi UNVR, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.checkfirewalls.com\/4800.asp\">CheckPoint T-180<\/a> (4800) firewall running pfSense, Unifi <a href=\"https:\/\/store.ui.com\/collections\/unifi-network-routing-switching\/products\/usw-24\">US-24<\/a> Switch, Unifi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ui.com\/unifi-switching\/unifi-switch-16-150w\/\">US-16-150W<\/a> PoE Switch and finally the 24 port patch panel.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/Rack.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em;margin-right: 1em\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" data-original-height=\"600\" data-original-width=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/03\/Rack-300x225.jpg\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>My Virgin Hynix cable router (in modem mode) sits on top of the Unifi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ui.com\/unifi-switching\/unifi-switch-16-150w\/\">US-16-150W<\/a> switch, as does the&nbsp; Hive controller for the heating.
