text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<p>I saw a CNC plasma cutter on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnczone.com\/forums\/plasma_edm_other_similar_machine_project_log\/121945-starting_my_plasmabot_4x4_table_build.html\">cnczone<\/a> and liked the look of how some of the parts had been made and the ideas behind how they mounted.<\/p>\n<p>I then discovered that the machine in question was a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.needfulthings.net\/host\/nosleep\/studio\/index.php\">ShopDroids<\/a>\u00a0machine.<\/p>\n<p>The extrusions they show are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbclinear.com\/IVTAAG\">IVTAAG<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbclinear.com\/IVTAAN\">IVTAAN<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbclinear.com\/Integral-V-Linear-Guide-Technology\">Pacific Bearings<\/a>.\u00a0The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.needfulthings.net\/host\/nosleep\/studio\/index.php\">ShopDroids<\/a>\u00a0design is intended for a plasma cutter that will have little if any stress placed on the gantry.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbclinear.com\/IVTAAG\">IVTAAG<\/a> is basically a 50x50mm extrusion with integral V rails.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at the extrusion calculator on the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.needfulthings.net\/host\/nosleep\/studio\/index.php\">ShopDroids<\/a>\u00a0website, these custom extrusions appear to be quite competitively priced, especially compared to mounting V rail to flat steel bar stock.<\/p>\n<p>I want something a bit beefier than the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbclinear.com\/IVTAAG\">IVTAAG<\/a>, looking to mount\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbclinear.com\/IVTAAQ\">IVTAAQ<\/a>\u00a0extrusion, which is 105mm wide but only 18mm thick, again with integral V rails, to an 80x80mm profile to increase rigidity and using the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbclinear.com\/IVTAAS-Linear-Guides---Modular-Bolt-On\">IVTAAS<\/a> extrusion to for the rails and mounting of the rack for my Y axis.<\/p>\n<p>I am currently awaiting prices for these extrusions from a couple of UK based distributors of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbclinear.com\/Integral-V-Linear-Guide-Technology\">Pacific Bearings<\/a>\u00a0products.<\/p>\n<p>I also like the look of the various\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.needfulthings.net\/host\/nosleep\/studio\/index.php\">ShopDroids<\/a>\u00a0gearbox designs, which are not a million miles from some of my earlier ideas:<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;
