{"id":9,"date":"2020-05-01T13:23:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-01T12:23:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2023-01-07T19:02:39","modified_gmt":"2023-01-07T19:02:39","slug":"ord-bot-hadron-build-part-1-frame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/3dprinters\/2020\/05\/ord-bot-hadron-build-part-1-frame.html","title":{"rendered":"Ord Bot Hadron Build Part 1 &#8211; The Frame"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been collecting parts for a while now and whilst I am still waiting on some, I thought I would get started.<\/p>\n<p>First off I needed to cut the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inventables.com\/technologies\/makerslide\">Makerslide<\/a> to length, the build calls for 3 x 330mm lengths and 1 x 430mm length along with 1 x 370mm length of 20x40mm profile.<\/p>\n<p>I cut a 330mm length off either end of a 1m length of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inventables.com\/technologies\/makerslide\">Makerslide<\/a>\u00a0and left the remaining piece at 340mm, this one will be used for the X axis.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/05\/Hadron01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-91 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/05\/Hadron01-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/05\/Hadron01-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/05\/Hadron01-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.hslracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/05\/Hadron01.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Next I marked out the hole positions for the hidden wiring and started to drill them out, but after the first hole started going oval and I had no hope of drilling the offset hole, I decided to use a 10mm milling cutter on my Mini Mill instead.<\/p>\n<p>For the 7.75mm holes, I just used an 8mm milling cutter. I rechecked the drawing and where I had marked and drilled and all was correct, it appears that the handle was cut with the top 2 slots 5mm up from from where they should be.<\/p>\n<p>Not a major issue, back to the milling machine and mill the hole up 5mm to form a slot.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; nylon spacers and M5 screws, although these may need to be changed for M4 grub screws if they interfere with the belts on the various axes.<\/p>\n<p>Here you can see the X axis gantry installed on the Z axis, some of the end stops are also visible<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;
